This is intended to list various types of history which would fall in the remit of this wiki.
- What is generally called 'local history' - the history of a locality/history on the small scale. Richard Gough's History of Myddle, written in 1700, is perhaps the best known early orginator of this form of history.
- History of industries in a given area, and other aspects of social, economic and cultural life particular to that area.
- Transport and communications.
- Local government and administration.
